As far as iconic British brands go, few are more coveted than Temperley London. Regularly seen on red carpets all over the world and consistently delivering beautifully envisioned designs season after season, the Temperley name is synonymous with classic simplicity, vintage inspired style and effortless femininity. Somerset, Alice Temperley's diffusion range for John Lewis, became their biggest selling brand collection when it was launched last year, so it's easy to understand why Alice's designs for SS13 have been so eagerly anticipated. Taking signature details of the Temperley aesthetic, Somerset for SS13 looks set to be just as popular as the debut collection:
The thing which I love the most about this range is the fact that it's so instantly recognisable as Temperley- the majority of the pieces look like they would be perfectly at home in the mainline SS13 collection, meaning that despite the purse friendly price points, this is a range which doesn't feel at all diluted. Amongst some of my favourite pieces are these beautiful blue printed trousers, which would be perfect for any summer holiday, and would prove really versatile when it comes to styling. The pale blue blouse is another favourite, with the relaxed fit ideal for staying stylish if you're spending summer in the city, and the lace insert details adding a really feminine feel to a piece which I think would become a real wardrobe staple. As well as an abundance of blue, the collection also features some amazing bright flashes of colour, most notably in this gorgeous sunshine yellow blouse and the red skinny jeans, which I think are a really refreshing change from standard denim for the warmer months. As far as accessories go, the navy satchel bag is definitely on my wishlist, and it's such a classic design that it would prove a really worthwhile investment piece. The brogues are also heavenly, and a beautifully well made addition to any shoe collection. Now I can't wait to see the high summer collection when it launches in a few months!
