Last week, accompanied by Hannah, Sophie and Sarah, I popped along to ASOS HQ in Camden for a very special sneak peek at the new season pieces which are soon to be hitting the website. There's something really energising about seeing AW13 lines arriving, and, although I'm not eager for the cold weather to arrive again, I am really excited about picking up some autumn essentials, as well as of course tracking down the perfect new season coat. As something of a self-confessed ASOS addict, I was really eager to see what they've got in the pipeline for autumn/winter:

For AW13, ASOS have created four core fashion stories which take their inspiration from an array of contrasting aesthetics and eras. The Almost Famous collection is imbued with a real touch of Art Deco elegance, thanks to embellishments, jacquard fabrics and velvets. Shaman is a range which is all about texture, juxtaposing different fabrics in an array of vibrant colours for a really fun and energising take on the winter wardrobe. Vandals is a nod to punk inspired chic, with tartans, blacks and leather pieces all adding a distinctive attitude to this hard wearing collection. Amongst some of my personal favourites were the bounty of beautiful coats on display, as well as the vivid colourways and embroidered details which comprised the Common Folk collection. Needless to say I've already drawn up a pretty extensive shopping list of my must-have pieces!

Moving on to footwear and accessories, for AW13 ASOS really have come up trumps. Loafers, winklepickers and heavy duty boots all emphasise an androgynous yet practical aesthetic, and it's really easy to envisage how the footwear could be styled alongside their new season fashion stories. In terms of accessories, bags are updated with vibrant bursts of colour (the perfect rainy day accent piece), and I was really happy to see that statement necklaces and earrings are still going to be essential for next season.

Finally, gifts- a comparatively new range for ASOS. We were lucky enough to have a preview of some of the exclusive stationary which will be appearing online soon and I can't wait to snap up some of the beautiful new notebooks. I also loved the lunchboxes and pencil cases- the perfect stocking fillers for Christmas, don't you think?

What do you think of what ASOS have on offer for next season? Do you have any favourite pieces?
