I don't know about you, but at this time of the year my complexion usually resembles something considerably more vampiric than usual, and I'm always on the lookout for miracle products to add a little bit of brightness to my face. I'm not blessed with an overly warm skin tone anyway, so when the temperatures plummet I tend to veer into almost ghoulish territory- something which my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser has been a godsend in helping to avoid. In an attempt to add a little more colour to my complexion as the winter continues, I eagerly snapped up the much anticipated One Night Stand Palette from Nars when it was released a little while back:

Taking inspiration from the iconic images created by the revolutionary (and often controversial) fashion photographer Guy Bourdin, the One Night Stand Palette is a limited edition production from the Nars Holiday collection. Incorporating a highlighter, bronzer and four blushers (two of which are new), the palette proved hugely popular when it launched- so I was really lucky to get my hands on one before they all sold out! I'm not usually overly adventurous when it comes to adding a burst of colour to my complexion, but I've had a few blushers from Nars in the past and have been really impressed with them, so the release of this product seemed like the perfect opportunity to get a little bit experimental.
The highlighter (Devotee) offers a light reflecting, almost translucent finish and is perfect for drawing the eye to the cheek or brow bones- and a really nice light wearing alternative to a lot of the other powder highlighters which I've tried in the past. Next up is Mistinguette, a pale pink blusher which in the pan looks perfect for Barbie, but not so much for me. However, once applied, it's a really pleasant, cool pink which works surprisingly well with my skintone- it's especially lovely with a warm pink lipstick too. Orgasm is perhaps one of the most iconic beauty products which Nars have ever produced, and if I'm being honest I'd heard really mixed reports about it. A rather reddish pink infused with flecks of sparkle, this is definitely not a shade for the faint hearted- or the heavy handed- a light application is really all you need of this one. Goulue is a shade which has been created specifically for this palette- a really lovely rose pink which is ideal for an evening look. Deep Throat is another Nars icon and a blusher which I already own and love- so having a duplicate here is no bad thing at all. Finally, the Laguna Bronzer is something which I'm yet to try out as I think it will work best on me with a slight tan, but I imagine it's ideal for the summer- fingers crossed it won't be too long in arriving, eh?!
Have you tried the One Night Stand Palette? What did you think?
