Although I've just had a very overdue haircut, for the last few years I've been a member of the long lock love-in. My hair as it is at the moment is the shortest I've had it in a while, but keeping things easy to care for during this hit weather has proven to be a super-wise decision. There's no denying that looking after which falls longer than your shoulders can prove to be a bit of a nightmare, but with the right arsenal of tools at your disposal, things can prove relatively faff-free. Truth be told, I'm a bit of a lazy Lucy when it comes to haircare, so am always on the lookout for products to make life easier. So, whether you're in the process of growing your hair out, struggling to manage your barnet or just want to give your locks some TLC, here's a little peek at some of my failsafe favourites:
Trevor Sorbie Straight Protect & Shine Spray, Sachajuan Leave In Conditioner, L'Oréal Kids Sweet Pear Tangle Tamer & Tangle Teezer Original.
If you, like me, have thicker than average hair, then you'll undoubtedly be familiar with the perils of drying. My hair takes between two to three hours to air dry completely, so if I want to style it in a hurry then the humble hairdryer is a necessity. Heat protection is a must- and this Trevor Sorbie spray (a present from Elodie!) is an absolute dream. It leaves absolutely no residue, is really light and can be used pretty sparingly, depending obviously on the intensity of the heat which you're using. The Sachajuan Leave In Conditioner is a real haircare hero in my book- and it smells absolutely heavenly! If I remember correctly, this was a discovery from a Selfridges Beauty Box a while ago- and it's a product which I usually tend to reach for when my hair is feeling a little flat and dry. Definitely worth trying if you're overdue a trip to the hairdresser or tend to scrimp on the conditioning in the shower. Choosing a product from the L'Oréal Kids Range might make me seem like the child who never grew up, but this spray is a revelation- particularly if you, like me, are pretty lazy on the hair upkeep (or should that be low maintenance..?!) It's a somewhat shameful (and up until now, little known!) fact that I can go for days without brushing my hair, so a quick spritz of this is essential to avoid the trauma of tangles. Speaking of which, was there ever a better invention than the Tangle Teezer? I think not. I've got about three stashed away and since Sarah introduced me to them a few years ago, I haven't looked back. They are seriously labour saving, and make taming unwieldy locks a whole lot easier. Thank. Goodness.
